Franchise Expo Paris to Host New Pavilions for the U.S. and Canada this March (Z195)

Franchise Expo Paris, the international business trade show, will be held from March 14 to 17, 2010, at the Exhibition Center at Porte de Versailles in Paris, Pavilion 3. On a 23,000-square-meter area, Franchise Expo Paris will host French and internatinal franchise brands from 75 business sectors. Four of those sectors are particularly innovative and growing fast: fashion/beauty/health, home decoration/equipment, catering/food trade and services to individuals and businesses. The 2010 NSIA Snow Show will run from Sunday, January 17th to Thursday, January 21st.

The Aquatech Amsterdam tradeshow has been moved from autumn 2010 to autumn 2011, organizers announced. The shift is part of a strategic decision to put on the show in every uneven year. The rescheduled show will be held Nov. 1 to 4, 2011. Aquatech Amsterdam is the leading trade exhibition on process, drinking and wastewater held in Europe. It is run by Amsterdam RAI. The exhibition provides an extensive overview of the latest developments in the fields of water treatment, transport and storage, process control and process automation and point-of-use. The Water Quality Association (WQA) will continue to operate a pavilion and reception at Aquatech Amsterdam in 2011.

Reed Travel Exhibitions Launch Americas Meetings Trade Show for 2010

Baltimore Chosen to be the Home of the Americas Incentive Business Travel & Meetings Exhibition – (AIBTM) Reed Travel Exhibitions has announced today (7 October 2008) that it is to launch a new international trade show for the global meetings and incentive industry – the Americas Incentive Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition (AIBTM) to be held in Baltimore, Maryland from June 29 – July 1, 2010.This new major event completes the company’s established portfolio of ‘IBTM’ exhibitions specifically serving the global meetings industry marketplace. AIBTM joins EIBTM in Barcelona, GIBTM in Abu Dhabi, and CIBTM in Beijing. The portfolio also includes AIME, Melbourne and the ICCA Congress Exhibition held in a different destination each year.

Textile Shows Unite in ’10

The organizers of three textile and sewn industry tradeshows decided that banding together made more sense than going it alone.

ATME-I/MegaTex (American Textile Machinery Exhibition), SPESA Expo (Sewn Products Equipment Suppliers Assn.) and Techtextil North America, owned by Messe Frankfurt, have reached an agreement to collocate their events to form the Textile & Sewn Products Industry Week May 18-20, 2010, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

The shows will take place in adjacent halls, and attendees will be able to go to all three events, according to show organizers.

“The changes we have witnessed in the global sewn products industry have convinced us more than ever that all the segments of the industry must work together to remain competitive,” said Benton Gardner, executive vice president of SPESA. “The collocation of SPESA Expo, Techtextil North America and the ATME-I/MegaTex provides a unique opportunity for visitors to see leading exhibitors that supply the full spectrum of their production needs.”

Techtextil North America services high-performance technical textiles and nonwovens; ATME-I/MegaTex is geared toward textile manufacturing technology; and SPESA Expo is an exhibition and symposium focused on equipment, technology and services for all segments of the sewn products industry.

APLF to launch a trade event in Delhi in association with IFCOMA

The Indian Footwear Components Manufacturers’ Association (IFCOMA) is a non-profit organization and the only trade association of Footwear Component Manufacturers in India.

It has been an implementing agency under the National Leather Development Program (a UNDP assisted program) and is duly recognized by various ministries of the Government of India and associated institutions.

IFCOMA’s objectives are to promote interaction among members for development of products of international quality & amp; standards, in order to promote the growth of the Indian footwear component industry in the domestic as well as export markets.

APLF Ltd, a joint venture between CMP Asia and SIC SA, Paris, has organized annually in Hong Kong since 1994, one of the most important leather related trade fairs in the world, APLF – MATERIALS, MANUFACTURING AND TECHNOLOGY (MM&T) and the twice yearly fashion accessories event – the largest of its kind in Asia – FASHION ACCESS which highlights footwear, handbags, travelware and a wide range of fashion accessories sourced from all over the world.

For the last three years another APLF event, PRIME SOURCE FORUM, the annual meeting of the global apparel industry, has been collocated with FASHION ACCESS.

Fancy Food Show Moves to D.C. / July 10-12, 2011 / Washington Convention Center

The Summer Intl. Fancy Food & Confection Show will be held July 10-12, 2011, at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

The unanimous decision to move the New York-based show for one year was made at the February meeting of the Natl. Assn. for the Specialty Food Trade’s Board of Directors.

The move came because the show’s longtime summer venue, the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center of New York, is expected to undergo a major renovation and possible expansion in 2011. The show will take place at Javits through 2010 and is expected to return to New York City in 2012.

Chris Nemchek, NASFT vice president of exhibition management, said, “The initial reason that we considered moving the Summer Fancy Food Show at all was that we felt that any major renovation and/or expansion of the Javits Center would disrupt our event significantly. But beyond that, metropolitan Washington is one of the nation’s strongest markets for the specialty food industry.”

Initial feedback NASFT has received from members has been positive, he added, and international pavilion organizers are equally excited about experiencing Washington.

Nemchek noted that Washington didn’t seek the show. “The impetus was from us. While we would like to be in New York as often as possible, we really felt that it was important to keep our options open so that we would be in a position to protect our major asset,” he added. “New York made a strong effort to keep the Fancy Food Show here. We will return to New York in 2012 and for the foreseeable future.”

This year’s show, set for June 29-July 1 in New York, will cover more than 350,000 net square feet of exhibit space and is expected to attract more than 24,000 attendees.
