Rosemont and the Stephens Convention Center: The Smart Way To “Do Chicago”…

Posted in Products and Services by tsnn

Being centrally located, very business savy, wonderful restaurants and an important “Travel Hub”, Chicago has enjoyed its status as America’s Great Business and Convention Destination. But over the years expenses have been creeping higher and higher. And other cities have been aggressively attracting convention traffic. Chicago was gaining the reputation as a great convention destination, but too expensive to actually choose. But Rosemont is changing all of that.

Location Smart…

Rosemont is five minutes from Chicago O’Hare International Airport and at the junction of Chicagoland’s expressways, making it a leading national center for meetings and conventions, and the busiest center in the Midwest. Located just across the street from the Stephens Convention and Conference Center, We have a whole new complex currently under construction, with many of its facilities being completed this year and next. Some of the new additions are . . .

• an 18-screen themed movie megaplex by Muvico, including a children’s playroom, stadium seating, a VIP entrance and valet parking;
• a 575-room luxury Inercontinental Hotel, with a McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant, a Capital Grille and Osteria di Tramonto, an additional restaurant by Cenitary Restaurants and Rick Tramonto of TRU;
• a 254-room ALOFT Hotel by Continental Hotels (owners of the W chain of hotels);

The Stephens Convention Center offers an impressive 840,000 square feet of exhibit space, comprising six separate but connecting halls. The smallest hall can accommodate about 100 booths’ the largest, 1,200 booths. Shows occupying approximately 350,000 net square feet of space can be presented in first-class fashion when booking the facility.
The conference center’s largest level opens onto the Stephens Ballroom, which holds up to 4,000 delegates theater-style or 3,000 banquet-style. An enclosed, climate-controlled pedestrian Skybridge Network links the facility and the conference center, with it’s 40,000 square feet of meeting space that was added more than a year ago, for a total of 92,000 square feet in 50 meeting rooms. The convention and conference center combined offer nearly one million square feet of space.

The newest addition to the Stephens Conference Center is an extremely flexible space, that may be configured into as many as 22 separate meeting rooms, ranging in size from a 345 square-foot breakout room to an 18,000 square-foot ballroom, plus a VIP-style boardroom and a new grand ballroom that holds groups of up to 2,500 theater-style, 1,650 banquet-style and 1,500 classroom-style.

Meeting in Rosemont means enjoying the highest level of convenience and service. In a recent in-depth survey, Rosemont meeting planners expressed a very high level of confidence in the convention center staff, as well as the staff of Rosemont’s in-house services contractors, Rosemont Exposition Services. “The meeting planners who return to us frequently, have indicated that they have complete faith in the top quality of service they consistently receive, not only here at the Stephens Center, but from businesses across Rosemont,” said Mr. Stephens.

2,500 of Rosemont’s hotel rooms are within walking distance of the center and the remaining 4,500 are within a five-minute drive of the facility. The Skybridge Network connects both the convention and conference center to the Hyatt Regency, Hotel Sofitel, Doubletree Rosemont, and the three new hotels with the 8,000-space parking facility.

Some of the nearby restaurants include Gibson’s, Carlucci’s, Morton’s of Chicago, Harry Caray’s, Nick’s Fishmarket, The Rosewood, The Ram Restaurant and Brewhouse and a brand new Friday’s . The 4,300-seat Rosemont Theatre and 17,000-seat Allstate Arena host world-renowned concerts and sporting events.
