In implementation of the relevant resolutions adopted by the 3rd Session of the Islamic Conference of Ministers of Youth and Sports and the 32nd Ministerial session of the COMCEC held in October and November 2016 in Istanbul – Republic of Turkey, which welcomes the joint proposal of the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT) and the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) to organize the “OIC Sport and Leisure Exhibition” in 2017, ICDT and ISSF will organize in the partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan and in collaboration with the Caspian Event Organizers LLC, the BISF “OIC Sport and Leisure Exhibition“ from 13th to 15th May 2017 at Baku Expo Center - Republic of Azerbaijan, concomitantly with the 4th Edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games, to be held on 12-22 May 2017 . It should be noted that the First Islamic Games were held in the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia from the 8th to 20th April 2005 with an Olympic-style tournament aimed at showing Muslim sports prowess and featuring 6,000 athletes. 18 sports were covered by the Islamic Solidarity Games including many sports disciplines (football, equestrian, basketball,..etc). Over 5,000 athletes from 57 OIC countries are expected at the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku. The leisure sector will also be represented at the “OIC Sport and Leisure Exhibition”. Exhibitors will present offerings from leisure-oriented sectors, and share exciting news, while providing many ideas for holiday and leisure tours and activities.
