Until recently, the opportunity to have a celebrity attend an event, attach themselves to a name-brand or endorse a certain product or idea was untouchable. The thought of paying a person to promote a product was seen as something only Fortune 500 companies could afford. Social media has changed all that with brands and businesses utilizing celebrity influencers to connect directly with their demographics and increase sales and profits.
Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities Convention - ABRF 2018
MYRTLE BEACH, SOUTH CAROLINA
Highlights of the ABRF annual meeting include scientific sessions and workshops that allow presenters and attendees to explore and discuss in-depth critical scientific and technical issues encountered in biomolecular core facilities. Featured plenary sessions bring to light the discoveries made possible through core facilities and provide a preview of new technologies that will drive future discovery. Poster sessions provide further opportunities to network with colleagues sharing scientific interests and operational concerns. The meeting features three main scientific tracks (proteomics, genomics, light microscopy/imaging) and an administrative track (management, professional development and compliance/regulatory issues). We are including an additional track devoted to special sessions that focus on bioinformatics, flow cytometry, monoclonal antibodies and other technologies available through core facilities. Research Groups of ABRF spanning all core technologies will be presenting the latest results of studies aimed at gauging the effectiveness of new technologies and methodologies in real laboratory settings, as well as hosting additional scientific presentations to further emphasize key aspects of their technology. Vendors in multiple disciplines will have exhibit booths but also make presentations, display posters, and host after-hours events. These activities provide in-depth interaction opportunities not always available at other meetings.
