BlogWorld & New Media Expo Moves Back to Las Vegas, Coincides with International CES

April 23, 2012

After spending this year in Los Angeles, show organizers of the BlogWorld & New Media Expo have not only decided to move the show Jan. 6-8 next year back to Las Vegas, where it was previously held for four years, but also the show now is timed with the first day of International CES.

"We're excited to bring BlogWorld back to Las Vegas," said Rick Calvert, CEO and co-founder of BlogWorld & New Media Expo.

He added, "We received so many requests to move back to Las Vegas, the decision was simple; our community spoke and we listened. It's such a convenient location for everyone to get to, and there are so many high quality hotel and entertainment options that our attendees enjoy. The event timing now works out better than ever; alternating our Eastern and Western U.S events every six months is the most beneficial format for our attendees and sponsors."

In addition, BlogWorld’s 2013 Las Vegas show, scheduled to be held at the RIO Convention Center, will coincide with the International Academy of Web Television (IAWTV) Awards show.

"The fact that CES and the IAWTV Awards are both happening that same week in Las Vegas definitely played a part in our decision to change the date to January,” Calvert said.

He added, “Web TV content creators and digital media experts attending CES will now have an easy way to attend two of their favorite events in one trip.”

BlogWorldsponsors include Ford Motor Company, .ME, WordPress, Blogger, Technorati, Stickam, Johnson & Johnson, PR Newswire, SocialMoms, the International Academy of Web Television (IAWTV), NetShelter and more.

This year’s BlogWorld in Los Angeles drew 3,250 attendees, a modest increase, compared with last year.

Participants from 34 countries (up from 27 countries last year), including Australia and the United Kingdom were among those blogging, interviewing and capturing videos in the hallways at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The 2012 showfloor also had 13,600 square feet with 85 exhibiting companies.

BlogWorld’s second East Coast-based show is set to take place June 5-7 in New York City.
