Starting in 2012, Digestive Disease Week has hired Frost Miller Group to create a new brand identity for the annual medical conference and develop promotional materials for the next three events.
Digestive Disease Week is the world’s largest gathering of physicians, researchers and academics in the fields of gastroenterology, hepatology, endoscopy and gastrointestinal surgery, with more than 13,000 GI professionals attending last year’s event.
The event is sponsored by the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, American Gastroenterological Association Institute, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract.
“Rebranding always poses challenges, but we are looking forward to applying our experience and design capabilities to create new concepts that will invigorate the brand and the meeting,” said Evan Mann, vice president of creative at Frost Miller Group.
The first order of business for the Frost Miller Group, a Bethesda, Md.-based integrated marketing communications firm, will be developing a new logo for the event, and followed by producing and printingt digital exhibitor and attendee marketing collateral for DDW in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
Frost Miller Group also will design print and digital advertisements, registration brochures, direct mail, on-site programs and other promotional materials.
Last year’s DDW was held in May at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center and ranked No. 179 on the 2010 TSNN Top 250 list, with 13,494 attendees, 245 exhibitors and 125,700 net square feet of exhibit space.
The 2011 DDW is on tap May 7-10 at Chicago’s McCormick Place and will be a new, four-day format.
Each day of the conference will feature presentations of breakthrough research on a broad variety of gastrointestinal health issues and hepatology, including whether the entire population should be tested for hepatitis, and does BMI screening start too late in childhood?
Even if attendees are unable to physically make the event, DDW is making sure they still can benefit from it with DDW on Demand 2011 that will features up to 500 hours of sessions delivered as full-motion video with fully synchronized presenter slides with audio, allowing attendees to view the presentations as if they were there.
