MTO Tech Awards - Call for Entries

MTO Summit is pleased to announce the MTO Tech Awards honoring technology providers in the trade show, conference and meeting industry.

A single winner will be chosen in each of the following categories:

Best in Attendee Experience: Technology in this category is designed to enhance the attendee experience using productivity tools, entertainment and innovation. This category would cover such technology as web and mobile event portals, digital bookmarking, information exchange, social games, kiosks, and video screens.

Best in Marketing and Communication: Technology in this category is designed to help event organizers market their products and services and communicate their brand messages to customers. This category would cover such technology as email platforms, CRM tools, Internet data mining.

Best in Networking and Community: Technology in this category is designed to promote online and offline networking as well as community building. This category would cover such technology as event-centric social networking platforms, community building tools, mobile networking, matchmaking, and one-to-one live meeting solutions.

Best in Analytics and Measurement: Technology in this category is designed to enhance data collection, measurement and analytics for event organizers. This category would cover such technology as RFID, polling, surveys, and lead retrieval solutions.

Best in Event Management: Technology in this category is designed to enhance event planning and production processes. This category would cover such technology as floor plan/booth selection, speaker/abstract management, RFP, venue/destination selection, budgeting/financial management, and registration/housing platforms.

Best in Virtual Events: Technology in this category is designed to capture and deliver content to virtual audiences. This category would cover such technology as virtual trade shows, conferences, meetings, webcasts, live streaming, content management systems, on-demand content delivery, content capture, online press room, online publications, and content syndication.

In addition, one overall winner will also be awarded an MTO Tech Award in the Best in Event Technology category for having achieved the highest number of points in any award category based on the criteria below. In the event of a tie, the award committee of five independent event technology thought leaders will choose the overall winner.

Entries will be judged on a point system (80 points possible) using the following criteria:

• Technology solves a problem or addresses a need for meeting stakeholders (for example, event organizer, attendee, sponsor, exhibitor)—maximum 10 points.

• Technology is unique and innovative in its design, delivery or value proposition—maximum 10 points.

• Technology is disruptive, i.e. enables new strategies, business models, markets or pricing—maximum 10 points.

• Technology provides optimum return on investment for event stakeholders—maximum 10 points.

• Technology exhibits high and/or rapid user adoption rates—maximum 10 points.

• Technology integrates easily with existing event management platforms and/or other technology solutions—maximum 10 points.

• Technology is part of a long-term strategy to evolve the meetings industry—maximum 10 points.

• Technology is user-friendly—maximum 10 points.

In order to qualify for an award, entrants must meet the following requirements:

1.
Entrant must be the developer of the brand, app, platform or concept.
2. Entrant must indicate to which award category the entry applies.
3. At least 50% or more of the developer's revenue must be derived/intended to be derived from the event industry.
4. Entrant must provide a demo, case study, website or digital brochure detailing the features and benefits of the technology.
5. Entrant must provide the company name, address, contact person, telephone number, email address, brand name of the product.
6. Entrant must submit a written document via email demonstrating how the technology meets the eight criteria listed above to Patrick Trappe: ptrappe@tarsus.com.
7. Entries must be received no later than 12:00 midnight on October 25, 2010.
8. Only one entry per company will be accepted.

Winning companies will receive the following:

• Custom designed digital badge
• Free one-month banner ad on TSNN.com
• Editorial mention on TSNN.com
• Media release mention
• Posting in MeetingTechOnline Linked In group
• Editorial mention on MTO Summit website
• Editorial mention on MeetingTechOnline website
