Ever since I have had the privilege of working on TSNN, I always have felt the event industry, the industry of face-to-face marketing, had a special element of compassion that we never see or hear about in the news. The people of our industry, the “faces”, are what differentiate us from Internet communities. Online communities often are without identity or real interactions.

The compelling reason to attend a trade show or event is the interaction of people. Our industry is the human element. Our leaders are the social and accessible. Yet, what is the real story behind the faces? We know the people, but do we know what drives them? What are their passions, fears and motivations?

This new TSNN section is about the stories behind the leaders of the industry. A perspective about people. You would not hear these thoughts unless you had the time to ask about heart issues and ideas. It isn’t about the job; we already know that part of the story, but rather about the influences on our lives that creates the humanity of our industry.

A look behind the faces that make up the face2face industry …
