The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) has reported a total attendance of 113,488 visitors at its collocated Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition), International ITC Expo and Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Spring Edition) held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in April.

The HKTDC also noted that the number of international visitors was 68,899 - traveling from overseas or mainland China. Buyers from other countries included Taiwan, the United States, South Korea, Japan, India, Russia, Brazil, Turkey and Australia.
HKTDC’s deputy executive director Benjamin Chau, said, “With buyers coming from 153 countries and regions around the globe, these fairs are highly internationalised. Numbers for American and European buyers are up steadily, but there are also significant increases in buyers coming from Russia, Indonesia and Turkey.”
Until recently, the opportunity to have a celebrity attend an event, attach themselves to a name-brand or endorse a certain product or idea was untouchable. The thought of paying a person to promote a product was seen as something only Fortune 500 companies could afford. Social media has changed all that with brands and businesses utilizing celebrity influencers to connect directly with their demographics and increase sales and profits.
