Smart City Networks has rolled out a nationwide upgrade of its wireless networking services that will enhance the speed and flexibility of wireless offerings at 39 convention centers and other venues it manages throughout the U.S. The system-wide implementation of the MikroTik captive portal included installation of 234 new gateway devices at Smart City facilities designed to increase capacity and speed. The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (the Centre) embraced the Ramadan spirit of sadaqah (giving) at its 10th annual buka puasa gathering recently. International exhibition organiser, Informa Exhibitions, announced the company has formed a joint venture company with the organiser of Chengdu China Building & Decoration Exposition (CCBD), Chengdu Tianyi Exhibition Service Co., Ltd. Last week, Macau’s Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) released its MICE statistics for the first quarter of 2017, indicating that a total of 366 MICE events were held in the city – that represents an increase of 18% year-on-year. The total number of participants and attendees also increased – rising 62%, reaching over 222,000 in the quarter. The trade show industry was back on the positive side after slipping in the final quarter of 2016, with a year-over-year 1.6-percent uptick in growth to kick off the first quarter of this year, according to the Center for Exhibition Industry Research’s Index Report.
