Reed Hongda Exhibitions (Henan) Co., Ltd., part of Reed Exhibitions Greater China, signed an agreement with Shanghai Gehua Exhibition Planning Co., Ltd. to acquire a 100-percent stake in the Shanghai International Auto Decoration Supplies Sourcing Fair (CSAE) and all of the show’s assets. The ATC Show 2012, made up of All in CARAVANING 2012 and All in TUNING 2012 in Beijing, had an impressive debut for the growing RVand camping industry in China. The four-day Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and the concurrent electronicAsia attracted more than 97,000 buyers from 140 countries and regions, with the electronics portion drawing a 5-percent increase, compared with last year’s show. The Hong Kong Trade Development Councils’ combined exhibitions at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre also welcomed 3,900 exhibitors from 28 countries and regions. International sports, venue and entertainment organization AEG Facilities has expanded its Convention Center Management and Services Division by naming Brad Gessner vice president of Convention Centers. Marina Bay Sands has had its busiest MICE month ever, with 13 tradeshows and several key conferences scheduled for the Singapore-based venue in October. The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau is making a significant investment; US$30 million for a three-year plan that will focus on attracting mega-events from key Asian and ASEAN+6 markets. The plan, which targets corporate Incentive travel, includes the launch of the ASEAN Visitors Promotion Campaign. Thailand’s MICE industry has a major role as a bridge to ASEAN economies and in boosting business opportunities both at home and abroad, according to TCEB officials.
