HIP Network Wins PCMA’s Event Tech Competition

January 21, 2017

HIP Network won the Professional Convention Management Association’s first-ever “Shark Tank”-style event technology pitch competition in Austin, Texas. The competition was held during PCMA's Convening Leaders annual meeting Jan. 8-11.

First-place honors were given for its newly launched ShowScore™ Business Intelligence Platform and Reporting Standard.

In winning, HIP Network beat out content management apps, event check-in tech and social customizations.

HIP Network’s Founder and CEO Dan Sherman demonstrated the technology to a veteran group of industry judges, which included Jim Kelley from PRG, Dahlia El Gazzar from Dahlia+ Agency and Liz King from Liz King Events.

The competition was part of Tech Central, an area of PCMA sponsored by Events DC, the official convention and sports authority, and Destination DC, the official destination marketing organization of the District of Columbia.

“Technology is a driving force behind successful meetings and events,” said Greg O’Dell, CEO, Events DC.

He added, “As a sponsor of Tech Central at the 2017 PCMA Convening Leaders, Events DC applauds HIP Network for delivering the ShowScore™ business intelligence platform and reporting standard that empowers all stakeholders within the event ecosystem.”

In addition to winning the event tech competition, HIP Network officially debuted ShowScore™ to 4,500 fellow industry colleagues at the 2017 PCMA Annual Convening Leaders Conference.

ShowScore is the first SaaS Platform and Reporting Standard for event organizers, hotels, DMOs and service providers who seek guidance and deal-cycle transparency on core event analytics including: host destination direct economic impact, host venue compatibility, total room night demand, verified event history, event spend visibility and performance.

“ShowScore is the Business Intelligence Platform and Reporting Standard that event oganizers, hotels, DMOs and service providers have sought for years. By empowering all parties with independently verified, transparent and unbiased meetings and events intelligence, ShowScore™ is set to become the pre-eminent business measurement tool for market-leading organizers, hotel brands and destinations,” said Dan Sherman, founder and CEO, HIP Network.
