Messe Mnchen Shanghai to Support Green Building China 2012
Exhibition organisers, VNU Exhibitions Asia and MMI (Shanghai), subsidiary of Messe München International, have signed an agreement to cooperate on the hosting of Green Building China (GBC 2012). MMI Shanghai will act in a supporting role to GBC, a flagship event of VNU, and will be held from 26th to 29th March at the Shanghai New International Expo Center.
GBC attracted over 2,000 exhibitors in its 2011 edition, and is expected to cover around 200,000 m2 of exhibition space. The show is supported by the Shanghai Urban Construction and Communications Commission, China Real Estate Association, China Exploration and Architecture Association, and the China Federation of Urban Commercial Outlets Construction Administration.
MMI organises BAU, an event similar to GBC held once every two years in Munich, serving the architecture, materials and systems industry. Commenting in the press release, managing director of MMI, Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer mentioned that BAU shares the same concept and vision as GBC, and added, “We will be present at GBC 2012 and we want to bring our experiences and interactions from our networks. Our main objective is to look for further cooperation in the future.”
Until recently, the opportunity to have a celebrity attend an event, attach themselves to a name-brand or endorse a certain product or idea was untouchable. The thought of paying a person to promote a product was seen as something only Fortune 500 companies could afford. Social media has changed all that with brands and businesses utilizing celebrity influencers to connect directly with their demographics and increase sales and profits.
