New Business Contracts: GES, Taffy Event Strategies, AEG, CDS Snag Business

August 9, 2016

As the long summer days begin their slow turn into fall leaves and back-to-school times, companies in the trade show industry have continued to grow their businesses with new and returning business contracts.

Middle East event organizer F&E, a Tarsus Group company, has appointed GES as official supplier in an agreement until the end of 2019.

The agreement includes delivering services for F&E’s aerospace portfolio – the MEBAA Show and the Dubai Airshow, taking place at DWC, Airshow Site; collocated shows Aircraft Interiors Middle East (AIME) and MRO Middle East - plus education exhibition GESS, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The deal builds on GES’ global relationship with parent group Tarsus – now encompassing 15 shows across the UK, U.S., Europe and the Middle East.

Michele van Akelijen, managing director of F&E, said, “F&E has found the ideal partner to continue to deliver the growing shows within our portfolio. GES brings a wealth of experience and proven results, which will enable us to provide our exhibitors and visitors with both first-class experience and value.”

Coverings, an international tile and stone show in North America, has appointed Taffy Event Strategies, as its show management company.

Taffy will be responsible for producing Coverings’ exhibition and conference program. Coverings 2017 will be held April 4-7 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.

Coverings features 1,100 exhibitors from more than 40 countries and attracts thousands of distributors, retailers, fabricators, contractors, specifiers, architects, designers, builders and developers.

The show is co-sponsored by Ceramics of Italy/Confindustria Ceramica, Tile Council of North America, Inc. (TCNA), Tile of Spain/the Spanish Ceramic Tile Manufacturer’s Association (ASCER), the Ceramic Tile Distributors Association (CTDA), and the National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA).

Taffy is a full-service trade show and management company focused on producing events that inspire audiences, create connections, and deliver results.

“We are delighted to team up with Coverings to help drive its goals and add value for the thousands of show exhibitors and attendees,” said Jennifer Hoff, president at Taffy Event Strategies.

She added, “We are looking forward to supporting the industry’s showcasing its truly remarkable tile and stone products, while also fostering business-building networking and education opportunities for today’s professionals.”

AEG Facilities was awarded management for the Puerto Rico Convention Center (PRCC) effective Aug. 1.

To further facilitate a seamless transition, AEG Facilities also has appointed Jorge Perez as General Manager of the PRCC.

“AEG Facilities is the industry’s professional venue management leader and we look forward to what promises to be a very productive and collaborative partnership. I am confident that AEG’s vast network of resources and talent will be an incredible asset to the PRCC and will help boost convention business at the PRCC and fuel Puerto Rico’s economy,” said Victor Suarez, director of the Puerto Rico Convention Center District Authority (PRCCDA).

Convention Data Services was selected by PMMI as the registration partner for ProFood Tech, a new biennial event built to showcase suppliers' latest innovations and technologies for all food and beverage sectors.

The contract is for the inaugural event in 2017 and calls for CDS to provide full registration, a custom contact center for registrants and onsite services at the event.

This new event will make its debut at McCormick Place in Chicago, April 4-6, 2017 and will be the most comprehensive food and beverage processing event in North America, according to organizers.

ProFood Tech is powered by three of the world’s tradeshow leaders: PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies; Koelnmesse and the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA).

“PMMI is excited to expand our PACK EXPO family of tradeshows with the launch of ProFood Tech. We are thrilled to team up with CDS again as they have proven to be a valuable partner to PMMI as we expand our business,” said Jim Pittas, senior vice president at PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies.

“We are pleased to partner with PMMI to provide registration and lead retrieval services for the debut of this new event. Our proven track record as a strong partner with PMMI on PACK EXPO East demonstrated to them that we are ready to offer unsurpassed customer service, onsite support and best practices for ProFood Tech,” said David Lawton, executive vice president of Sales, Convention Data Services.
