New Venue in Hainan to Open in July

June 18, 2011

Hainan's largest exhibition venue, the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center (HICEC) will be completed June 28 after a 17-month construction period. HICEC is made up of a 77,000 square meter exhibition centre, as well as a 42,000 sq. m. convention centre.

The venue will reportedly host nine exhibitions and four conferences within this year and will host the Pan-PRD Regional Cooperation and Development Forum in 2012. The Hainan Provincial government has stated that it will lend financial support to large-scale exhibitions held on the island-province according to its size.

The venue’s first large-scale exhibition, the China Hainan International Auto Expo, will open July 8 to coincide with HICEC’s official opening date. The event will occupy 33,000 sq. m. of indoor exhibition space.
