Pico Thailand Revenues Jump 73 Percent
Pico Thailand, the Thai-listed subsidiary of one of the largest exhibition contractors in Asia, Pico Far East Holdings, has announced its results for the six months ended April 30. Revenues for the period were $22 million – an increase of 73 percent, compared with same period in 2010. The company recorded a net profit of $1.5 million in the period, three times the profit of $452,000 recorded last year.
Pico Thailand also reported the results for the quarter ended April 30. Revenues in the quarter were $13 million, a jump of 65 percent, compared with the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter was $1.1 million, which is an increase of 70 percent.
Until recently, the opportunity to have a celebrity attend an event, attach themselves to a name-brand or endorse a certain product or idea was untouchable. The thought of paying a person to promote a product was seen as something only Fortune 500 companies could afford. Social media has changed all that with brands and businesses utilizing celebrity influencers to connect directly with their demographics and increase sales and profits.
