Reed Signs Three-year Contract With BITEC
Bangkok Trade Exhibition and Convention Centre (BITEC) announced the signing of a multi-year contract with exhibition organiser Reed Tradex. The deal will anchor Reed’s flagship Asian event Manufacturing Expo to the venue for three years until 2013.
Manufacturing Expo is an umbrella show consisting of InterPlas Thailand, InterMold Thailand, Automotive Manufacturing and Assembly Technology. The show is scheduled to run June 23-26 and also is collocated with NEPCON Thailand, Industrial Components & Subcontracting and Industrial Energy & Environment. In the 2010 edition, the show reportedly covered 25,000 square meters of exhibition space, with 1,300 exhibitors from 25 countries and 32,000 visitors.
BITEC has plans to invest $8.2 million for developments and spend $13 million for renovations of its exhibition halls beginning in 2012. Management is forecasting the number of events organised at BITEC to increase by 15 percent.
BITEC marketing and sales director, Ms. Panittha Buri, said, “The multi-year contract between Reed Tradex and BITEC is a proven point that we can keep our promise in retaining our positioning as “a strategic partner” in order to maximize the benefit to our key clients who stay with us for 14 years and to continue another three years contract accordingly.”
Until recently, the opportunity to have a celebrity attend an event, attach themselves to a name-brand or endorse a certain product or idea was untouchable. The thought of paying a person to promote a product was seen as something only Fortune 500 companies could afford. Social media has changed all that with brands and businesses utilizing celebrity influencers to connect directly with their demographics and increase sales and profits.
