Two Australian Home Shows Acquired
Exhibitions and Events Australia Pty Ltd (EEA) has confirmed that it has acquired two Australian exhibitions, the Courier-Mail and Sunday Mail Home Shows. The events were acquired from Queensland Newspapers Pty Ltd.
Jane Ford, managing director of Exhibitions and Events Australia, said, “The Courier-Mail and Sunday Mail Home Shows are some of Australia’s most highly regarded consumer events with a solid history of achieving success thanks to the many years of expert management by Organisers International. The events are currently in a very strong position and we are excited about the prospect of working with the dedicated long standing team. …We are positive of a smooth transition and maintaining the Show’s status in the marketplace.”
Melbourne-based Exhibitions and Events Australia organises several home shows including: the HIA Home Show in Melbourne, HIA Home Show in Sydney, the Herald Sun Home Show in Melbourne and the Auckland and Canterbury Home Shows in New Zealand. EEA also owns and organises the BuildGreen Expo and six “Mind Body Spirit” Festivals. The company was founded in 2005 by Jane Ford. EEA currently employs a staff of approximately 20.
Until recently, the opportunity to have a celebrity attend an event, attach themselves to a name-brand or endorse a certain product or idea was untouchable. The thought of paying a person to promote a product was seen as something only Fortune 500 companies could afford. Social media has changed all that with brands and businesses utilizing celebrity influencers to connect directly with their demographics and increase sales and profits.
