Description
The recognition of the growing threat of cyber-attacks in the region and the growing urgency to combat these threats prompted the Philippine Government to form The Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) in May 2016 with the mandate to address all national IT matters and promote the national ICT Development Agenda. The Integrated Government Philippines (iGovPhil) Project was subsequently launched in December 2016 to address IT security as a major priority and adopt measures to address short-comings by enhancing and purchasing hardware, software, capability development and training. They would work closely with the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) who announced in December 2016 a six-year national cybersecurity strategy. CYBERSPHERE 2017 an integrated Cyber Security and Cloud Technology Event has been launched with the full endorsement and support of DICT in order to present a focused platform for international cybersecurity and cloud solution companies to meet, share views and their experience and explore rapidly growing opportunities with evaluation and procurement personnel in Government, Public and Private Sectors in the Philippines.
