VIETNAM’S TEXTILE & GARMENT EXPORTS CONTINUE TO GROW According to the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS), the total export turnover of this industry in 2018 is expected to reach over US$36 billion this year, exceeding US$1.5 billion against the target, up 16.01% YoY (a large growth compared to 10.79% in 2017/2016). While total import of raw materials, fabrics and accessories will reach around US$22 billion.  Between 2016 and 2020, production capacity is expected to grow 12-14 percent, while export potential will annually grow by 15 percent during the same period.

According to VITAS, the production trend of Vietnam’s textile and garment industry in 2019 would be:

  • Development in the trend of the 4.0 industry revolution
  • Segment production process in different industrial zone
