Description
Smart Connection Company and Interpoint Events are proud to announce the launch of Power of SPORT, a dedicated sports management conference aimed at supporting local sports clubs, associations, sport and recreation facilities and local government, growing participation in community sport and recreational activities. Following the success of the National Synthetic Surfaces Conference & Expo (NSSCE 2013), the Power of SPORT will be centered on the use of innovative programs and technology being used to drive people to be more active in more places. Martin Sheppard, Managing Director of Smart Connection Company said; ?The support of the inaugural NSSCE was amazing with hundreds of organisations involved. The overwhelming feedback was that they wanted it again in Sydney and with more advice on how they could drive more participation. With the dire health statistics around diabetes and the number of children who are overweight and obese, it makes sense to combine the Power of Sport with the NSSCE so people get the latest trends on how to increase participation with how best to manage the facilities to cope with the additional demand? The conference will aim to show delegates how to grow community participation in sport, recreational events and activities with innovative programs and marketing. International and nationally renowned speakers will discuss management of facilities, and how best to seek collaboration opportunities between health, recreation, government, commercial and community sectors to grow and retain members and participants. The Power of SPORT will be co-located with NSSCE and the two events will share keynote sessions and the NSSCE will have its own stream focusing on the latest trends, applications and issues around the use of synthetic surface technology to cope with the growing demand for more sports surfaces. The combined business to business trade show will be held adjacent to the conference and will be free to attend, with program and place providers, peak bodies, synthetic surface suppliers and commercial equipment suppliers to showcase the latest developments in the sport and recreation industry. Following the success of the NSSCE 2013, case studies and study tours will once again be held, giving delegates a hands-on experience to develop their learning from the conference in a practical setting. Parks and Leisure Australia will once again support the event, with Bethanie Hunter, executive officer, confirming ?After the success of the National Synthetic Surfaces Conference this year, PLA are excited to announce that we will be partnering again with Interpoint and Smart Connection to deliver another accessible and informative National Synthetic Surfaces Conference and Expo to be held in June 2014.? Simon Cooper, Managing Director of Interpoint Events is looking forward once again to collaborating with Smart Connection, saying ?the addition of a sports management conference will increase the profile and attendance of the National Synthetic Surfaces Conference & Expo and highlight people, programs, technology and the physical sports environment?.
