The American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation Selects SmithBucklin for Full-Service Association Management

The American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (ASBMT) selected SmithBucklin, the association management and services company more organizations turn to than any other, to provide full-service association management.

ASBMT will continue to be headquartered in the Chicago area, but will move to the SmithBucklin office effective April 2.

High International Impact at MEDICA and COMPAMED 2017: Visitors From 130 Countries

The recent concurrent staging of MEDICA 2017, the world's leading medical trade fair, and COMPAMED 2017, High tech solutions for medical technology, in Düsseldorf, Germany, again confirmed its high international impact for the medical technology industry.

On four days, 123,500 specialists from all health sectors came to experience the latest technologies presented by 5,100 exhibitors from 66 countries.

CPhI North America to Expand Presence and Focus in 2018

CPhI North America, the only event to bring the complete North American pharma supply chain together, today announced the opening of 2018 event registration. CPhI North America will take place April 24-26, 2018 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.

It will feature an expanded show footprint ideal for networking, sourcing, education and innovation in drug development and manufacturing.

Healthcare Convention & Exhibitors Association Changes Membership Structure

The Healthcare Convention & Exhibitors Association unveiled its new, streamlined Membership Structure. HCEA volunteers and staff reviewed membership needs with all categories and types of HCEA members, and introduced a simple membership structure that allows for more choice.

HCEA’s membership categories remain the same: Association, Corporation, and Industry Partner. Now, members will choose how many individuals from the organization will participate in HCEA and have access to benefits.

American Society for Cell Biology Taps Spargo to Oversee Meeting’s Exhibit Sales/Sponsorships

In August, SPARGO assumed responsibility for the management of exhibit and sponsorship sales for the American Society for Cell Biology’s 2017 and 2018 ASCB|EMBO Meetings and 2019 and 2020 ASCB Annual Meetings.

 Additionally, SPARGO will sell advertising in ASCB’s three publications and other digital communications.

Caring for One Another MGM Resorts’ Food Donations Program collects and preserves unserved food from conventions held at MGM Resorts properties, then safely donates to food insecure people in the community. Since the program’s launch in 2016, more than 3.7 million meals toward a 2025 goal of 5 million meals have been donated into the community. Donations include: Unserved perishable prepared foods from events Perishable unprepared food from MGM Resorts’ kitchens Nonperishable food items from minibars and warehouses The collaboration with Southern Nevada’s primary food bank, Three Square, has developed the infrastructure needed to safely collect, transport, and store food from MGM Resorts properties in Las Vegas, reducing food waste while serving the community.
