Informa’s Sandy Voss Named 2017 TSNN Awards Industry Icon Honoree

June 21, 2017

Trade Show News Network (TSNN) has named 20-year trade show industry leader Sandy Voss, vice president of Informa Exhibitions, as the 2017 TSNN Awards Industry Icon Honoree.

Voss will be celebrated at the 2017 TSNN Awards celebration (www.T-awards.com), which is on tap Aug. 21-23 in New Orleans and collocated with Connect Expo.

“Sandy is a consummate trade show professional with incredible depth of knowledge and experience, but what truly sets her apart is her passion and drive, combined with an amazing work ethic; all achieved under a banner of humility,” said Fred Linder, president, Health and Nutrition Network, Informa (which acquired Penton last year).

He added, “She has been a great partner to me for close to two decades and she has mentored and taught dozens and dozens of other trade show professionals over the years. Congrats to Sandy – more than well deserved.”

Rachel Wimberly, TSNN President and editor-in-chief, said, “I have known Sandy several years, and she embodies the type of person who we celebrate as a TSNN Awards Industry Icon Award Honoree.”

She added, “She is very humble, but is a powerhouse who is very well-respected for the work she has done and the time she has given to support the overall trade show industry.”

Voss has been in the events industry since 1997. She started her career in a sales role for New Hope Network and has since held a myriad of leadership positions from sales to operations to group director and market leader of both domestic and international events.

In her current position, she oversees provides leadership and direction for the management and operations team that handle a portfolio of more than 100 annual tradeshows and conferences. She also leads many strategic initiatives related to events.

Voss is an active member in the industry and has served on committees such as the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) and the Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO).

She also is a frequent guest and speaker at conferences and events and has been interviewed about industry trends.

The 2017 TSNN Awards will kick off Aug. 21 with an opening party at an iconic New Orleans nightclub destination, followed by an education conference the next day. The awards gala will be that evening at which not only will Voss be celebrated, but also 50 of the fastest-growing trade shows.
