April 26, 2017

The International Association of Exhibitions and Events has namedU.K.-based Tarsus Group this year’s recipient of the IAEE International Excellence Award.

The IAEE International Excellence Award recognizes an individual or organization that has made exceptional strides in creating, launching and managing an event in the exhibitions and events industry on an international scale.

“Tarsus Group has been a leader in the global exhibitions and events industry for nearly two decades,” said IAEE President and CEO David DuBois, CMP, CAE, FASAE, CTA. “The work it does in creating and expanding diverse markets across various borders exemplifies the spirit of the IAEE International Excellence Award.”

Tarsus Group is an international business-to-business media company, which owns and manages a portfolio of leading trade exhibitions across a range of sectors in the Americas, Asia and EMEA. The Group’s key brands include the Dubai Airshow, Labelexpo, Connect, OFFPRICE, Zuchex, AAITF, SIUF and Hometex.

Since its inception in 1998, Tarsus has developed its portfolio by both geography and business sector through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions. Its businesses are managed strongly at a local level with a focus on growing buyers, and the Group is increasingly replicating its brands into new territories to deliver organic growth. Acquisitions have been identified in faster growing markets – “markets in transition” – adding to the Group’s growth dynamic.

"Our whole team is focused on giving exceptional customer service and growth of visitor attendance is one of our critical key performance indicators," said Tarsus Group Managing Director Douglas Emslie. "In the past year, our 130 events in 19 countries worldwide had a seven percent increase in attendance, of which 10 of them were new events. We want to thank IAEE immensely for recognizing Tarsus Group with the IAEE International Excellence Award."

Tarsus Group will be presented the 2017 IAEE International Excellence Award at IMEX Frankfurt May 16-18 during the IMEX Gala Dinner & Awards.

IAEE’s presence at IMEX Frankfurt also will include in-booth education sessions and the Faculty Engagement Program, a unique opportunity for academic leaders to share best practices and offer encouragement in an open forum, presented through a partnership with IMEX.

Off the showfloor, IAEE will engage in a panel addressing future trends in the global exhibitions and events industry as well as offer the CEM course, Conference and Meeting Management Principles.

Also, IAEE will be presenting the 2017 Woman of Achievement Award during the IAEE Women’s Leadership Forum on 2 May. IAEE now is accepting nominations for its individual awards program, which recognizes exceptional professionals in the exhibitions and events industry. The deadline to submit nominations is June 23.
