TRC and Swoogo Join Forces to Create ShowSimple DIY Badge Printing Solution

October 27, 2017

Event industry service providers TRC and Swoogo have come together to launch ShowSimple – a do-it-yourself badge printing solution in a box.

Perfect for small events, the ShowSimple rental kit comes complete with everything an event organizer would need to print DIY badges, including two bar code scanning stations; a full-color printer; choice of badges and lanyards, and a self-contained router with internet access.

Organizers simply set up their badge printing stations, import attendees from any registration source, choose a full-color badge design and start printing.

To help planners feel confident about executing a quality experience, ShowSimple also provides access to a pre-event badge specialist that can assist with set up and badge design, a product manager for video chat and remote desktop support, as well as video training links.

As a company that historically has serviced larger events with on-demand badge printing, attendance tracking and lead retrieval with a focus on RFID technology, TRC spotted a gap in the marketplace for value badging services for smaller-sized events before developing the product in the first quarter of this year.

“We discovered that many of our large event customers (especially on the corporate meeting side) have many small events that don’t have the budget for full-service on-demand badge printing – the idea for ShowSimple was born,” explained Greg Lazzaro, TRC founder and president.

He continued, “Unlike pure software solutions, we have a high level of touch with project management and onsite support. The trick was figuring out how we could provide this support while providing customers with a DIY solution. Our solution is unique because we offer full project management and virtual onsite support with a dedicated product manager, not just a support hotline. Thanks to the addition of ShowSimple, TRC can now offer badge printing solutions for events from a few hundred to tens of thousands.”

According to Lazzaro, the real magic of ShowSimple comes from the integration with Swoogo, a next-generation event registration company that helped craft the product.

“It’s a partnership through and through,” said Leonora Valvo, Swoogo founder and CEO. “Our customers asked for it and TRC delivered it. Our teams worked in concert to design the product and I’m delighted with the results.”

TRC and Swoogo also happen to be part of the Event Tech Tribe, a partnership of six event technology companies and their best-in-craft technology solutions that collaborate technically and on a client level.

TRC client Heartland Dental decided to give ShowSimple a try for its three-day in-house training conference for 300 dentists, held last July in Effingham, Illinois.

According to Tim Ellis, Heartland Dental event logistics manager, not only was the DIY badge printing solution fast, easy and efficient, but also it shortened attendee check-in times and freed up time for event staff.

The ShowSimple option was perfect for our needs,” Ellis said. “Since we were familiar with TRC we were confident that we could use the ShowSimple system on our own.”

He continued, “The entire system came in two travel cases with all needed equipment inside (and) the TRC staff was very helpful once the gear showed up on our dock. This solution was perfect for our event and it helped our registration process out tremendously (by making it) very smooth and efficient. We ‘processed’ 175 people in 30 minutes, which was a big help in getting our people to their respective meeting rooms. I highly recommend the system – we will use it again for sure.”
