Positivity Rules! Sharing Stories About #EventProfs
We’re all tired. We’re tired of not knowing what’s going to happen and when this pandemic will be over. We’re tired of going to work in our jammies, not seeing our friends and colleagues in person, or going out to a restaurant or bar – and miss going to the office and/or producing our expos live.
Let’s take a break and talk about good things and kindness – you know, be positive! For this week’s #Expochat with moderator Stephanie Selesnick, President, International Trade Information, Inc., please share the people and companies, especially in our business, doing good work and helping others. We also want to see the best GIFs and MEMEs of this season of insanity (no politics, nothing mean-spirited). Think Ellen funny – a bit naughty but generally nice and quite often hilarious.
- Please share the best thing you’ve seen this week.
- Please share news about any individuals or organizations in the #tradeshow or #events business doing to help others out during this crisis.
- Where did you hear about it?
- What’s one good thing you’ve learned about yourself during the longest March-April ever?
- What’s one thing you want to learn during this “unprecedented” time?
- Out of all of your friends and work colleagues, who has the best video conferencing background? What is it?
- When we’re all allowed to go out again, what’s the first place you’re going, and why
- What is consuming most of your time now, fun things?
- What's the most fun activity you have done lately
- Has TikTok taken over your day?
- Name one profession you want to thank profusely after all of this? (besides eventprofs)
When: Wednesdays, 1-2 p.m. ET.
Where: Use hashtag #Expochat and any Twitter chat tool! (See below..)
NEW: Come to the chat with questions about anything trade show-related. We will use our community to address your issues or maybe even hook you up with some help.
What is #EXPOCHAT?
Expochat is a Twitter-based conversation on topics related to the trade show industry. It takes place most Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time and tackles a single topic each week - a recurring pain point, innovative ideas, evolution of the industry, best practices, and what works. Expochat is alternately moderated by industry thought leaders: Stephanie Selesnick (International Trade Information, Inc.), Michael Doane (CadmiumCD), Elizabeth Johnson (glee Content Marketing), Marlys K. Arnold (ImageSpecialist), Bill McGlade (Victory Productions) and Rich Vallaster (Personify).
The discussion is a fast-paced 60 minutes, during which participants may ask questions of the group on any topic. To participate, sign up on Twitter.com and follow the #Expochat hashtag at the appointed time. Questions will be identified as Q1, Q2, etc. Responses from participants should be written as A1, A2, etc. Tools like TweetDeck, Hootsuite and others can make it easier to participate. Ideas are welcome on Expochat but commercialism is not.
Trade Show News Network, the leading online exhibition industry news resource, sponsors the chat, and topics are listed in advance on TSNN.com. Reminders will be tweeted out prior to each week's discussion, but if you miss a chat, waklet transcripts (archived version) will be available on TSNN after each chat. We gladly accept requests for topics, simply reach out to Arlene Shows, Marketing Director firstname.lastname@example.org.
#Expochat, works because the community supports it. Join us for the best live conversations about the industry that signs your paycheck. Rants welcome!
