40-percent Growth for China Brew & China Beverage

November 6, 2012

The 10th edition of beverage and liquid food industry trade show, China Brew & China Beverage (CBB), reported a 40% exhibition space growth this year – up from 50,000 square metersin the 2010 edition to 70,000 sq. m.

Organised by Beijing Zhongqing Heli International Exhibition, around 700 exhibitors from 21 countries attended this year, compared with 583 in the previous edition. Of this, a total of 269 originated from outside China. The show took place from Sept. 19-20 at the China International Exhibition Center (CIEC) with the attendance of more than 51,000 visitors from 74 countries and regions.

This edition of CBB was also co-organised by MMI Shanghai, subsidiary of Messe München International who is the organiser of the Munich-based drinktec. This international partnership saw MMI Shanghai draw in international exhibitors that occupied 15,450 sq. m. of exhibition space.

Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer, managing director of Messe München International, said, “This CBB has laid the foundation stone for a Munich-Beijing axis. Every four years, drinktec in Munich brings together the entire beverage and liquid food industry from the whole world, while CBB serves the most important market in Asia over a two-year cycle. This grouping strengthens the two trade fair organisations but above all it offers benefits to our customers, the exhibitors and the visitors. The contract with our Chinese partners runs until 2024. This gives us plenty of time yet and a lot of scope for further growth.”
