The Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) recently supported the Queensland region by holding its board meeting and a series of roundtable and networking events at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, which will host the G20 Conference in 2014. Global Sources’ China Sourcing Fairs and collocated India Sourcing Fairs debuted Aug. 14 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with sold-out shows. The sold-out events were the largest Greater China products exhibitions in Brazil, featuring more than 500 booths. The Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) reported strong performance for the first nine months of fiscal year 2011-2012. From October 2011-July 2012, the industry experienced significant growth, according to TCEB officials. Part of that growth came from Thailand’s win of bids to host three megashows, including the AFECA AGM 2012, Inter Expo 2012 and World Stamp 2013. UBM Sinexpo, the joint venture company between UBM Asia and Shanghai Sinoexpo International Exhibition Ltd.,has acquired the Winexpo trade show from Shanghai Golden Commercial Exhibition. Winexpo, first launched in 2005, is held in May and November in Shanghai. The May 2012 event was held in INTEX Shanghai and attracted almost 100 exhibitors and more than 5,300 trade visitors. The autumn 2012 event will take place Nov. 28-30. From 2013, Winexpo will be collocated with UBM's existing trade show, Hotelex Shanghai, China's leading show for hotel supplies and equipment.
