Nominations Open for The Expo Group Show Manager of the Year (SMOTY) Awards

July 14, 2014
Nominations now are being accepted online for the longstanding awards program honoring show managers who exemplify excellence in their field. Since 2000, The Expo Group Show Manager of the Year (SMOTY) Awards have been presented to “individuals who are creating amazing experiences with their exhibition and in their marketplace community,” according to TEG officials. "Our independent panel of judges struggles annually to choose winners from among the group of smart, talented professionals," said Ray Pekowski, president and CEO of The Expo Group. "We need your help to make it just as hard this year. Rethink how you say thanks – say it with a nomination for the SMOTY Awards.” Nominations are accepted at no charge online at http://bit.ly/SMOTY14. The deadline is Sept. 30. Any individual responsible for the production of a trade or association show is eligible to win, regardless of any affiliation with The Expo Group. Self-nominations are accepted, as well as those from clients, colleagues and vendors. Winners will be honored during the 2014 TSNN Awards, which is on tap Nov. 14-16 in Cleveland, and receive complimentary event access, as well as the iconic SMOTY obelisk trophy and a donation for a charity of their choice. More than $75,000 has been donated to various charitable organizations as a result of the SMOTY awards. Visit http://bit.ly/SMOTYAWARDS to meet previous award winners and learn more about the program. Visit http://www.t-awards.com/ to learn more about the TSNN Awards Weekend. The awards are open to any expo professional in North America, so nominate now at http://bit.ly/SMOTY14.
