May 21, 2012

ATA 2012, a trade show focusing exclusively on telemedicine, telehealth, mHealth and remote healthcare technologies, has grown even larger, expanding 20 percent in total exhibit space.

The ATA 2012 exhibit hall hosted nearly 200 vendors, showcasing thousands of telemedicine products and services, many of which were seen for the first time.

ATA 2012 was held April 29-May 1 in San Jose, Calif.

"The entire spectrum of the telemedicine industry will gather at ATA 2012," said Jonathan Linkous, CEO of the American Telemedicine Association, before the event.

He added, "From hardware manufacturers to software developers, healthcare providers to telecom vendors, established industry players to innovative upstarts, the 2012 trade show is the complete world of telemedicine, telehealth and mHealth."

For 17 years, the ATA Annual Meeting has been the premier venue for the telehealth industry, according to event organizers.

ATA 2012 was on tap to be the association's largest meeting to-date, with 450 presentations and more than 4,500 healthcare professionals - clinicians, administrators, entrepreneurs, IT specialists, engineers and more- in attendance.

The American Telemedicine Association is the top resource and advocate promoting the use of advanced remote medical technologies.

ATA and its membership work to fully integrate telemedicine into healthcare systems to improve quality, equity and affordability of healthcare throughout the world, according to association officials.

Established in 1993, ATA is headquartered in Washington, D.C.
