Eco Expo Asia,   which is organized by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, and co-organised by the Environment Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), the show saw its strongest global presence yet. U.K.-based ITE Group has announced the acquisition of the Breakbulk series of exhibitions and media from AXIO Data in a deal brokered by Mayfield Media Strategies. Breakbulk events serve the transport and logistics market for large-scale project equipment. They are held annually in Houston, Antwerp, Shanghai, Johannesburg, Istanbul and Sao Paulo.  The acquisition also includes a print and digital magazine with expanded industry coverage along with exhibition websites that serve the global breakbulk community. Global Sources renewed its contract to host its trade shows at AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) in Hong Kong in 2017 and 2018 for approximately US$23.1 million. The company will retain the right to host its events twice a year -  in April and October - at AWE. In 2014, these shows attracted nearly 143,000 buyers and featured more than 14,200 booths. International exhibition organiser, Tarsus Group, announced plans to launch GESS Indonesia. Tarsus’ subsidiary, F&E Education is the organiser of Global Educational Supplies & Solutions Exhibition (GESS) in Dubai. That event attracts a reported 9,000 visitors from more than 75 countries. The inaugural GESS Indonesia will open on 30th September next year and run for three days. The event will be held at the Jakarta Convention Center, Indonesia. Last week, the Thai Exhibition Association (TEA) signed an MoU with Singapore’s SACEOS agreeing to cooperate to improve opportunities for organisers and increase visitors to events in both countries. The MoU is designed to increase collaboration including exchanging information to promote products, services and joint offerings as well as reciprocal links of each association’s website.
