Six months after taking over management of the NACE/CARS event from Hanley Wood Exhibitions, show officials with Houston-based business-to-business media company, Stone Fort Group, said they expect the show to be double in size when it runs July 13-Aug. 2 at the Cobo Center in Detroit. From its humble beginnings 34 years ago of only 200 booths, the 2014 Natural Products Expo West show saw its largest numbers to date. The Association of Equipment Manufacturers’ CONEXPO-CON/AGG sprawled over the Las Vegas Convention Center campus March 4 -8 beating even the most optimistic expectations. The triennial event took more than 2.35 million net square feet of exhibit space, featured some 2,400 exhibitors and attracted close to 130,000 attendees. The Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) recently released 2014 first quarter results of Thailand’s MICE industry. Covering the period from October to December 2013, the country received 186,864 MICE visitors who contributed US$491.8 million to the local economy – that is up 5% and 6% respectively compared with the same quarter in 2013. Highlighting the Oceania market, TCEB revealed a growth of 13% and 14% respectively in the number of MICE visitor arrivals and revenues generated during the quarter.
