Darren Guo Takes the Lead at NürnbergMesse China

August 11, 2015

NürnbergMesse China officially has been under new management since July. Darren Guo, already interim managing director since March, now will occupy the position permanently.

“Darren Guo has had a bond with NürnbergMesse from the start of his career”, said Dr. Roland Fleck and Peter Ottmann, the CEOs of the NürnbergMesse Group. “His linguistic and inter-cultural expertise make him the optimal connecting link between Nuremberg and Shanghai.”

From 2011 to February 2015, in his capacity as International Sales & Business development manager Asia Pacific, Guo was responsible to a key extent for the development of NürnbergMesse’s Asia business.

Prior to this, at the Julius-Maximilians University Würzburg, he obtained a master’s degree in sinology, business studies and Americanistics. Guo speaks fluent German, English and Chinese and also has knowledge of Japanese.

Since 2007, NürnbergMesse China has been one of five foreign subsidiaries of the Nuremberg exhibition company.

Since then, it already has established several trade fairs in the Chinese trade fair market.

Among others, it is organizes the largest trade fair for the Chinese organic sector, BIOFACH CHINA, as well as the event with recent strong growth, CHINA DIECASTING – China International Diecasting Congress and Exhibition.

In the future too, NürnbergMesse China will be extending its event portfolio.

In addition to BIOFACH CHINA and CHINA DIECASTING, its current event program includes the trade fairs SAE China Congress & Exhibition, International Powder & Bulk Solids Processing Conference & Exhibition along with the E-Mobility Technology China Forum.

Increasingly, the subsidiary also is becoming the exchange platform in both directions – it enables German companies to enter the Chinese market and networks Chinese firms with target markets abroad.
