By Elizabeth Johnson The International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) will hold its annual Expo! Expo! Dec. 6-8 in Anaheim. IAEE has slated a full program of 70 sessions “all about Action”. Sessions will include major topics such as safety and security, sales and sponsorship, show design and strategy, career advancement and tech trends and foresight. “This year we are adding additional flairs to the education at Expo! With business winding down into the holiday season, companies who provide services to the trade show industry continue to score new contracts before the end of the year. Event technology company, Core-Apps, has been selected to provide mobile apps for Professional Convention Management Association’s signature events in 2017, including the Convening Leaders and Education Conferences. The largest educational trade show and second-largest education convention in the nation returned to the SMG-managed Greater Columbus Convention Center, as more than 9,000 attendees attended the 61st annual Ohio School Boards Association Capital Conference and Trade Show Nov. 13-16. “This is the time that we get to shine for our members,” said Jeff Chambers, OSBA director of Communication Services. The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions’ 2016 IAAPA Attractions Expo, currently running in Orlando, and the 2016 International Baking Industry Exposition both can boast that their largest events in history are this year. IBIE was held at the Las Vegas Convention Center with more than 1,000 exhibitors - 340 new to IBIE and a 28-percent increase, compared with 2013 - on more than 700,000 square feet of exhibit space. Each year, Trade Show News Network compiles a list of the Top 250 Trade Shows ranked by net square footage in the United States. Submissions to be included on the 2016 lists now are open, and the shows must have occurred in 2016. Shows that are over 40,000 net sq. ft. have an opportunity to make the list. The 2016 NACS (National Association of Convenience Stores) Show drew 23,301 overall attendees, marking the third consecutive year the convenience and fuel retailing industry’s biggest event in the U.S. has topped more than 23,000 attendees. The NACS Show attracted 8,228 buyers, which are classified as retailers and convenience distributors, including the Petroleum Equipment Institute (PEI) registration.
