Diversified to Launch New Gas Technology Show

Exhibition organiser, Diversified Exhibitions Australia, will launch a new event for the liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry in the western Australian city of Perth. Entitled the Australian Gas Technology Conference and Exhibition (AGT), Diversified is expecting the attendance of around 150 exhibitors and 5,000 visitors at the inaugural event. AGT will take place at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, and will run from July 25-27.

Supported by the West Australian Government, major categories and themes covered at AGT will include gas processing and the construction and operation of LNG facilities, associated pipelines and exporting terminals, as well as a careers component covering the industry’s skills shortage. According to Diversified, Western Australia reportedly produced 15.3 million tonnes of LNG in 2010, or approximately 6 percent of LNG production worldwide.

Bill Hare, event director of AGT, said, “More than A$200 billion (US$203.2 billion) of LNG projects are on the drawing board in Australia and we’re poised to become the world’s second largest exporter of the fuel within the next 10 years.”
