Guangzhou International Travel Fair Features 1,000 Exhibitors

Guangzhou International Travel Fair 2016 (GITF 2016), organised by Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai Ltd, was held from 25th to 27th February in China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou.

This year’s fair featured 956 exhibitors from 45 countries and regions, with 63% of the exhibitors coming from overseas. The show covered 28,600 m2 of gross space. Sri Lanka was GITF’s partner country this year. Sri Lanka brought 32 local companies, covering over 200 m2.

The theme of this year’s event was “Internet+Tourism.” GITF 2016 aimed to show the impact of digital tools and platforms on tourism. The organizer launched a Smart Tourism & High-End Tourism Hall, which displayed “smart applications” for the tourism industry.

In addition to the exhibition, the Guangzhou International Tourism Development Forum 2016 also took place during the fair and featured the theme of “The Special Role of E-Commerce and Technology Innovation in MICE Management.”
