With the establishment of Guangzhou Li Tong Messe Frankfurt Co Ltd., Messe Frankfurt has further increased its presence in China. The new subsidiary is a joint venture between Messe Frankfurt’s Hong Kong subsidiary Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd. and the Chinese industry association Guangdong Toy Association (GDTA). Starting in 2015, Water Expo China, China’s first water business exhibition will take place Nov. 18-20 in a new location - the New China International Exhibition Center (NCIEC) in Beijing. Approved by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, the show will be organized by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd and the Chinese Hydraulic Engineering Society. The 18th China International Pet Show (CIPS) – a trade fair in Asia for pet supplies and aquarium products broke new records when it ran recently in Beijing: 946 exhibitors from a total of 20 countries showcased their products over a display area of 80,000 square meters and provided the around 36,000 trade visitors with information about the latest products and current trends. Eco Expo Asia,   which is organized by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, and co-organised by the Environment Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), the show saw its strongest global presence yet. Global Sources renewed its contract to host its trade shows at AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) in Hong Kong in 2017 and 2018 for approximately US$23.1 million. The company will retain the right to host its events twice a year -  in April and October - at AWE. In 2014, these shows attracted nearly 143,000 buyers and featured more than 14,200 booths. Marina Bay Sands recently helped Messe Berlin(Singapore), the organiser of ITB Asia 2014, stage the tradeshow’s first-ever carbon neutral event in its seven-year history. The travel trade show took place Oct. 29-31 at Sands Expo and Convention Centre, the first of a three-year run in Marina Bay Sands. The integrated resort’s team of sustainability experts guided ITB Asia 2014 to reduce its carbon footprint by five per cent from 399 tonnes in 2012.
