Indometal 2014, international metal & steel trade fair for Southeast Asia held in Jakarta, confirmed its strategic position as the country’s only dedicated exhibition for the metal and steel industries, with a high-level of international participation.
A total of 296 exhibitors from 26 countries, including five country pavilions and groups, showcased their products and technologies to 6,484 trade visitors from around the region.

International exhibition organiser, Tarsus Group, announced plans to launch GESS Indonesia. Tarsus’ subsidiary, F&E Education is the organiser of Global Educational Supplies & Solutions Exhibition (GESS) in Dubai. That event attracts a reported 9,000 visitors from more than 75 countries.
The inaugural GESS Indonesia will open on 30th September next year and run for three days. The event will be held at the Jakarta Convention Center, Indonesia.

Last week, the Thai Exhibition Association (TEA) signed an MoU with Singapore’s SACEOS agreeing to cooperate to improve opportunities for organisers and increase visitors to events in both countries.
The MoU is designed to increase collaboration including exchanging information to promote products, services and joint offerings as well as reciprocal links of each association’s website. Construction work on the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) venue in Jakarta is reportedly 80% complete. The venue is scheduled to open for business in January when it will host a Michael Bublé concert with 10,000 fans.
The venue cost is close to US$320 million and it will feature 50,000 m2 across ten halls as well as an additional 50,000 m2 of outdoor space and a 4,000 m2 convention hall.
