Event management technology provider, Hubb, has raised a $6.3 million Series B funding round, which was led by Five Elms Capital and includes follow-on investment from Oregon Venture Fund and Elevate Capital. Messe München’s FENESTRATION BAU China concluded last week attracting more than 100,000 visitors to New China International Exhibition Center (NCIEC) in Beijing. That figure represents year-on-year growth of 6%. Running from 31st October to 3rd November, the show covered net exhibition space of just over 51,000 m2, an increase of 5% compared with last year. The Seoul Convention Bureau (SCB) recently confirmed that the city has secured 40 international conferences for the year to date. SCB anticipates that these events will bring a total of 35,000 delegates to Seoul. According to the SCB, 12 of the confirmed events will be large-scale conferences with more than 1,000 delegates each. International conferences selecting Seoul as the host have continued to increase in recent years. In 2017, 42 new conferences were secured by SCB attracting 30,325 delegates. This week, Deutsche Messe announced a deal to purchase a majority stake in LaserFair based in Shenzhen. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Launched in 2007, LaserFair’s management maintains it is the largest laser exhibition in southern China. The event focuses on key segment including laser processing, laser applications, and intelligent manufacturing.
