Next year, B2B event producer, publisher, and digital media business for the advanced, technology-based manufacturing industry, Informa Markets Engineering, is launching the inaugural Sustainable Manufacturing Expo, a trade show and conference for sustainable industrial manufacturing. The new event will collocate with IME West/MD&M West, joining other collocated manufacturing shows, including WestPack, Automation Technology (ATX) West, D&M West, and Plastec West.

Emerald, which produces 140 annual trade shows and conferences annually, reported that overall revenues for the second quarter (Q2) were essentially flat, but the company saw an uptick of 3.3% in organic revenues over the same period last year.
On Aug. 7, Emerald reported Q2 total revenues of $86.0 million, a decrease of $0.5 million, or 0.6% over Q2 2023, primarily due to several small, discontinued events that were not contributing to profitability and scheduling differences, according to a release by Emerald.

Viad, a global provider of exhibition services and experiential marketing, reported strong Q2 results that exceed prior guidance. The parent company of global exhibition and trade show management company GES and global brand experience agency Spiro reported that GES revenues increased 19.6% year-over-year, primarily due to new client wins and continued underlying growth.
For Q2 that ended June 30, GES show performance and client spend remain strong, raising the company’s full year outlook, according to a release by Viad.

The global exhibition industry is on track to achieve record revenues this year, according to UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry’s latest Global Exhibition Barometer flagship industry report.
Released on August 8, the 33rd edition of UFI’s bi-annual report, designed to take the pulse of the worldwide exhibitions industry, was concluded in July 2024 and includes data from 453 companies in 68 countries and regions, as well as dedicated outlooks and analysis for 19 focus countries and regions.
