Renewed optimism and enthusiasm appeared to be the overall tenor at the Professional Convention Management Association’s annual meeting, Convening Leaders. In order to support small businesses looking to exhibit overseas, Hannover Fairs USA, a subsidiary of Germany-based Deutsche Messe, has partnered with the State of California to offera series of financial State Trade and Export Promotion (STEP) grants. Hong Kong has been awarded Asia’s best city for events in the annual CEI Industry Awards organised by CEI Asia. The city’s two main convention and exhibition venues, namely the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) and AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE), also came first and third, respectively, in the award category for top venue.
