Long-time Experient VP Terence Donnelly Passes Away

July 30, 2019

The trade show industry lost one if its own July 20, Terence Donnelly, a long-time executive at Experient and a good friend to many.

“Terence was full of positivity, always had a smile on his face, a kind word to everyone around him and a warm hug whenever you saw him,” said TSNN President Rachel Wimberly. “There are no words to describe this loss, and TSNN sends thoughts to his wife, two sons, family, friends and colleagues.”

Terence was a passionate moderator for TSNN-supported #Expochat as well, leading vibrant discussions on hot-button topics in the trade show industry.

Below is Terence’s obituary with his funeral and Celebration of Life details to be held Aug. 1 in D.C. and Arlington, Va.:

Terence was born in Allentown, Pa., in 1966, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Thomas R. Donnelly, Jr.

After attending St. Michael’s High School in St. Michaels, Md., and Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria, Va., Terence earned his undergraduate degree from Mary Washington College, Fredericksburg, Va.

Terence had charisma and magnetism and welcomed anyone he met with a warm and infectious smile.

A lover of golf, fine wine and cigars, he was affectionately known in many of his circles of life as T-Dawg.

His adult life was spent as a change agent and ambassador in the hospitality and event technology sectors, most recently spending 15 years as VP and Strategic Solutions Director at Experient.

Terence had an immense devotion for The Catholic Church, his family, his friends, and his profession.

The family will receive friends during a visitation Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Saint Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 1908 North Capitol Street NW, Washington, D.C. A funeral service will follow immediately at 11 a.m.

A Celebration of Life will take place following the service, but the location is the Key Bridge Marriott, 1401 Lee Hwy, Arlington, Va., 22209.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Greater Washington Region for the American Heart Association.
