Record Attendance Numbers Posted at Aluminium China

August 8, 2011

Reed Exhibitions’ Aluminium China broke all previous attendance records at its recent show, with 11,282 visitors from 83 countries and regions, a 25-percent jump from the 2010 edition. Of the visitors, 1,244 were international – 76 percent more than last year.

In addition, 420 exhibitors were on the exhibit floor in July at the Shanghai New International Expo Center.

For the first time, Aluminium China, which represents the complete industry supply chain for Aluminium, was collocated with Industrial Materials China, featuring copper, magnesium, green processing methods and composites.

“This created numerous synergetic opportunities for industry professionals looking for diversified solutions to satisfied all their demands under one roof,” according to Reed officials.

The move to collocate the two events also was to create Asia’s leading materials sourcing platform.

“The beginning of the '12th Five-Year Plan’ will drive the development of China’s materials industry,” said Chen Quanxun, president of the China Non-Ferrous Metals Industry Association. “Through this show, Reed Exhibitions China has delivered an invaluable platform on which international aluminium executives can exchange ideas and conduct business face-to-face.”

He added, “Aluminium China 2011 was the industry’s largest event ever to be held in Asia.  As such, it is crucial to the sustainable development of materials manufacturing in China and across Asia.”

Besides the showfloor and networking, there also were technical seminars, forums and themed activities.

In addition, the second edition of the SAE Asia Congress highlighted new changes in materials solutions for lightweight and new energy automotives. The event also featured the trends in emerging application segments of non-ferrous materials.

“With the successful integration of other non-ferrous metals into the Aluminium China portfolio, we are excellently positioned to give industry professionals the ultimate platform on which to trade, learn and network,” said Edwin Tan, vice president of Reed Exhibitions Greater China. “This event is an all-in-one solution for them to find out about emerging solutions and discover new ideas. We’re not satisfied with Aluminium China merely being the largest trade event of its kind in Asia; we also want to continue to develop the show by exploring new segments with great potential.”

He added, “This progressive attitude will be key in helping us stay on top of the materials manufacturing business.”
