Shanghai New International Expo Centre Unveils New Logo, Branding

November 24, 2015

The unveiling of the new logo and brand for the Shanghai New International Expo Centre was held Nov. 20 at Shanghai Grand Ballroom, Kerry Hotel Pudong.

More than 200 guests from government and industry were on hand to help SNIEC celebrate a new era.

The new logo combines the world famous SNIEC name along with two triangles representing the shape of the venue. SNIEC provides a platform to foster the exchange of knowledge, commerce, and cultures.

The dynamic combination of triangles expresses the spirit of cooperation, sharing, and innovation. Lastly, the red and grey colors symbolize vitality and wisdom.

The new tagline, “EXPERIENCE & EXCELLENCE” also debuted during the unveiling ceremony.

SNIEC jointly is owned by German Exposition Corp., a joint subsidiary of Deutsche Messe AG, Messe Duesseldorf GmbH, and Messe Muenchen GmbH; and the Shanghai Lujiazui Exhibition Development Co., Ltd.

On Nov. 4, 1999, former German Chancellor Schroeder, and former Shanghai Deputy Mayors Zhou Yupeng and Jiang Yiren attended the foundation-laying ceremony to kick off the construction of SNIEC. Since then, the exhibition industry venue in the Pudong has become the place in Shanghai to hold exhibitions.

Beginning with its opening on Nov. 2, 2001, the SNIEC project developed from the initial 4 halls over twelve expansion phases into 17 column-free, ground-level exhibition halls, covering 200,000 sqm of indoor space and 100,000 sqm of outdoor space.

SNIEC has 3 entrance halls, 20 loading bays, 2 multilayer parking garages and 5 large outdoor parking lots, providing 4730 parking spaces. The functional design of SNIEC makes it unique amongst all of the other exhibition centers in China.

Boasting outstanding surrounding commercial facilities, plentiful hotels and easy-access transport links, SNIEC is China’s most successful exhibition center, hosting more than 100 events and attracting close to 5 million visitors annually.

SNIEC 2.0 continues the venue’s commitment to customer service and innovation. Earlier this year, SNIEC implemented a series of upgrades which included the construction of an improved WiFi system, development of WIFI-related application, construction of additional transformers, upgraded food and beverage facilities, establishing a service evaluation system, and refining its customer satisfaction surveys.

These measures further the trust and confidence of leading international and domestic organizers to continue to use SNIEC to host their exhibitions, exemplifying “Experience & Excellence”.

Most importantly, SNIEC will continue to maintain its role as a landlord, meaning that it will not launch proprietary shows, nor compete with its customers. Organizers who bring their shows to SNIEC now and in the future know SNIEC will continue to actively protect their exhibitions.
