November 24, 2013

The AACC Annual Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo won the 2013 Trade Show News Network award for having the fastest-growing attendance of all nonprofit trade shows.

The award was presented during the TSNN Awards Nov. 1-3 in Reno at a Saturday night gala in front of more than 50 show organizers, as well as suppliers and guests.

Kristin Gibson, vice president of J. Spargo & Associates, which produces the event and accepted the award, said before the gala evening, “All of us at J. Spargo & Associates are thrilled that the AACC Annual Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo is being honored as one of the top 25 fastest-growing shows.”

The AACC Annual Meeting also is known for being the world's largest diagnostics conference and expo.

The TSNN Awards recognized four medical trade shows in all for topping the list of the 25 nonprofit shows that experienced the fastest increase in attendance from 2010–2012.

In addition to AACC's annual meeting, other frontrunners in this category included the AAOS (American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons) Annual Meeting, the American Academy of Pediatrics National Conference and Exhibition and the American Society for Healthcare Engineering – 2012 Annual Conference and Exhibition.

"We are thrilled to have won this award from TSNN," said AACC CEO Janet Kreizman.

She added, "Laboratory medicine is vital to patient care, and we strive to make every annual meeting a must-attend event for clinical laboratory professionals to learn about the latest cutting-edge technology and research breakthroughs in the field. We hosted more than 17,500 medical professionals in Houston this year, and hope to see even more growth in 2014."

Next year, the AACC Annual Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo will take place July 27-31 at McCormick Place in Chicago.
