Crowd Mics, CoatChex, PRSONAS Will Fight for SISO’s 2014 Event Innovation Battlefield Award

June 30, 2014

When the Society of Independent Show Organizers’ annual Leadership Conference kicks off Aug. 11-13 in Atlantic City, three event technology companies will have the chance to fight for the honor of winning the 2014 Event Innovation Battlefield Award.

The competition will take place during the three-day event that will gather together top-tier managers and young leaders who are interested in the latest innovations and best practices to manage their more than 4,000 shows.

"The Event Battlefield is an important motivational hub for innovation, ideas, talent and products," said Lew Shomer, executive director of SISO.

He added, "It gives our members the ability to see what's on the drawing boards now that will drive our industry in the future. We can also help incubate, develop and assist in the delivery of products and services to the market. It's a win-win-win which will advance the event industry."

This year,  the nominating committee chose three nominees from more than 50 organizations that applied, looking for breakthrough event technology or new business models that stood out from the crowd.

David Adler, CEO of BizBash and Co-chair of the SISO Battlefield project, said, "We are excited to present organizations that will stretch the imagination, showcase forward thinking and encourage our members to raise the bar on innovation. The program itself is a version of American Idol meets Shark Tank where attendees will vote on their choice for the most innovative of the innovative for 2014."
