Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co Ltd, along with China Council for the Promotion of International Trade – Shanghai Pudong Sub-Branch and Shanghai Hongshan Exhibition Service Co Ltd, will launch the Shanghai Intelligent Building Technology fair Sept. 20-22 at Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center.

According to organizers, the event will meet the growing demand from China’s intelligent building market.

Focused on the theme “Intelligent Building“, the fair will occupy approximately 6,000 square meters of exhibition space.

Exhibitors will be offering a range of products that include generic cabling, smart home and public facility management systems, safety and access controls, video and audio systems, intelligent sun shading systems and accessories, hotel intelligent systems, electrical engineering products and much more.

A variety of forums and seminars also will be held and offer insight to the latest developments and trends in the industry.

Thousands of industry professionals involved in system integration, construction, architecture and interior design are expected to attend the show.

“Shanghai Intelligent Building Technology is another important step in our internationalisation strategy and it will strengthen our presence in one of the world’s most important growth regions,” said Wolfgang Marzin, president and CEO of Messe Frankfurt.

She added, “And we will continue to expand our portfolio of events in Asia under the Light+Building umbrella. We are very pleased that Shanghai Hongshan Exhibition Service Co Ltd has agreed to join forces with us for Shanghai Intelligent Building Technology.”

Mr Richard Li, deputy manager of Messe Frankfurt in China, added, “Shanghai Hongshan Exhibition Service Co Ltd has already established an excellent track record by holding intelligent building related trade fairs in Shanghai since 2007. Their local experience, combined with Messe Frankfurt’s own brand of building technology fairs, will offer industry players strong synergy opportunities. The Shanghai Intelligent Building Technology fair will surely provide a one-stop platform for entry into East China’s intelligent building market.”

Since last year, China's intelligent building market has grown by 20 percent. It is expected that this year the market will be worth US $13.65 billion and will reach US $20.61 billion in 2015.

Such massive growth puts China in place to become the largest market for intelligent building technology by 2020 – accounting for nearly one-third of the global share.

Currently, there areapproximately 50 cities in China that have stated targets to become intelligent cities.

Twenty-six cities have already submitted plans for an intelligent city in their government reports. The scale of related markets to intelligent building technology is more than US $24 billion – with a market value estimated to break into the trillions within the next 10 years.

Mr. Zhang Xiaodong, General Manager from Shanghai Hongshan Exhibition Service Co Ltd, said, “With Messe Frankfurt’s successful record for organising the Guangzhou Electrical Building Technology fair and their professionalism in the exhibition industry, we believe that the Shanghai Intelligent Building Technology fair will offer a comprehensive experience for all industry professionals attending the event.”
