October 8, 2017

Tarsus Indonesia, a business-to-business event, exhibition, conference and media company, will cooperate with RAI Amsterdam to present Intertraffic Indonesia 2018, a leading global exhibition brand for traffic and mobility solutions.

Both parties signed a memorandum of understanding to pave the way to a successful cooperation.

With its Intertraffic events, RAI Amsterdam has a long track record of outstanding developments as one of the largest and most important trade event brand organisers for traffic industry professionals and trusted by leading international companies to showcase their diverse range of cutting-edge products and technologies.

Intertraffic regional events have been staged in Turkey, China, Mexico and will now be present in Indonesia in 2018.

"Intertraffic Indonesia 2018 is expected to accelerate the much-needed development of the country's traffic sector as well as provide new business and investment opportunities for the local and international traffic industry,” said Douglas Emslie, group managing director of Tarsus Group, the parent company of Tarsus Indonesia.

He added, “The show will connect Indonesian and ASEAN traffic professionals with global best practice and innovation, directly in support of the government's strategy to stimulate growth through investment in priority infrastructure.”

Based on the latest report from the TomTom Traffic Index 2017 , Indonesia’s capital city, Jakarta, is ranked as the third most-congested city in the world behind Mexico City and Bangkok.

Such is the traffic density in Jakarta, drivers need to allow up to 58 percent extra travel time. The information shows that the traffic sector requires special attention and management from various parties.

Intertraffic Indonesia 2018 is designed as a solution to answer a multitude of traffic problems in the country.

The event will feature road infrastructure, traffic management, road safety, parking and smart mobility technologies and will be attended by road infrastructure project owners, public transport and toll road operators, transportation operators from private sectors, transportation authorities and other government agencies to conduct business and present solutions to expand the road network while improving road safety Indonesia.

“Intertraffic Indonesia 2018 serves as a platform for key figures in infrastructure, traffic management, safety, parking lots operational development, and all industry professionals to gather, do business and witness the best solutions that improve mobility and improve traffic conditions not only in Jakarta but also other big cities in Indonesia and the ASEAN region,” said Richard Butter, Director Traffic Technology at RAI Amsterdam.

The Government of Indonesia led by President Joko Widodo realizes that connectivity and mobility access needs to be improved to boost the country's economic growth through the development of various infrastructures.

To realize inter-regional connectivity, the government plans to build 865km of new highways. Good traffic management is required to improve the connectivity and mobility of people who will utilize these infrastructures.

Therefore Intertraffic Indonesia 2018 is held to support the priority infrastructure development focus.

The announcement of Intertraffic Indonesia 2018 comes as Tarsus Indonesia is currently gearing up for Indonesia Infrastructure Week (IIW) 2017, taking place Nov. 8-10 at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC).

This year’s IIW will see a number of new exhibition sectors, including Infratraffic Indonesia, the precursor event for launching Intertraffic Indonesia in 2018.

Intertraffic Indonesia 2018 will be held at JIExpo alongside Indonesia Infrastructure Week 2018 and Konstruksi Indonesia & The Big 5 Construct Indonesia 2018, a new host venue for Indonesia Infrastructure Week that reflects the unparalleled growth of Tarsus Indonesia’s infrastructure and construction events in light of demand.

Combined, the 2018 events comprise the largest and most comprehensive infrastructure and construction exhibitions in the country.
