Description

We are excited to announce that plans for AAPD 2021 have been moved to an entirely all-virtual format, get ready to join us in The Hub!

With 2020 behind us, we are all hopeful for a fresh start in this New Year. Here at AAPD, we must continue to put the health, safety, and wellbeing of our members and their families at the forefront of all we do. While we were hopeful that 2021 would bring us together in-person, we must still err on the side of caution, which is why we have made the difficult decision to cancel AAPD 2021 in Boston.

Understanding that this is difficult news to hear and digest, please remember we don’t make these decisions lightly. AAPD Leadership has thought of every possible option and avenue when it comes to this meeting. Unfortunately, there are limitations to hosting a meeting in Boston that we cannot get around. The City of Boston continues to have COVID restrictions in place, limiting the number of people gathering in groups for large meetings and there is no guarantee that these measures will be lifted by the time AAPD 2021 takes place in May. We are confident that we can still bring you the meeting you have come to know and love, just from the convenience of your home or office! With that being said, get excited and get ready for The Hub!

We certainly received great feedback from NashVirtual this past year, and we strive to exceed the expectations of our membership. We have taken suggestions from our members very seriously, which is why we want you to know that The Hub will be an enhanced virtual experience! AAPD staff has had this past year to research vendors for our platform, to network and collaborate with peers in the industry, and to educate ourselves, all in order to bring you the best virtual experience for AAPD 2021.

Get ready for an outstanding educational program, jam-packed with incredible speakers on a variety of relevant topics in pediatric dentistry, an enhanced and interactive 3D exhibit hall, and even more ways to interact with your peers and colleagues to make up for the time you can’t spend in person.

Registration will open in February so stay tuned for updates on that date! If you can’t wait that long to start planning your time in The Hub, be sure to check out the full list of sessions here. An important note is that you will have the ability to earn up to 50+ CE Hours that you can claim for the next few years, and for reference, when in-person, you can only earn up to around 23 CE Hours, making this a deal you won’t want to miss! The AAPD has created several pricing tiers and packages to fit every budget, we are sure you will find something right for you. Stay tuned for more information on registration, schedule, and more!

Partner Voices
MGM Resorts is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse culture, not just among employees and guests but also within its supply chain. The company prioritizes procuring goods and services from businesses owned by minorities, women, veterans, people with disabilities, LGBTQ individuals and those facing economic disadvantages. This commitment is integral to MGM Resorts' global procurement strategy.    Through its voluntary supplier diversity program, MGM Resorts actively identifies and connects certified diverse-owned suppliers to opportunities within its supply chain. The company is on track to spend at least 15% of its biddable procurement with diverse-owned businesses by 2025, demonstrating that supplier diversity is not only a social responsibility but also a strategic business imperative.    Supplier diversity isn’t just the right thing to do – it’s good for business. A diverse supply chain allows access to a broader range of perspectives and experience, helping to drive innovation, entrepreneurship and resilience, while strengthening communities. At MGM Resorts, engaging diverse suppliers ensures best-in-class experiences for guests and clients. Supplier diversity ensures a more resilient supply chain while supporting economic development in the communities in which it operates.   The impact of MGM Resorts' supplier diversity initiatives is significant. In 2023, these efforts supported over 3,500 jobs across more than 30 states, contributed over $214 million in income for diverse-owned businesses and generated more than $62 million in tax revenue. The story extends beyond the numbers – it reflects the tangible benefits brought to small and diverse-owned businesses, fostering economic empowerment in their communities.    MGM Resorts also supports the development and business skills of diverse-owned businesses through investment, mentorship and education. Through the MGM Resorts Supplier Diversity Mentorship Program, the company identifies, mentors and develops diverse-owned businesses to fill its future pipeline, while providing businesses with tools and resources to empower and uplift. Since 2017, the program has successfully graduated 105 diverse-owned businesses and is on track to achieve its goal of 150 graduates by 2025.     MGM Resorts’ commitment to supplier diversity not only enhances its business operations but also plays a crucial role in uplifting communities and fostering economic development. This approach reinforces the idea that diversity is a powerful driver of innovation and resilience, benefiting both the company and the wider community.
