Tourism continues to dominate Asia Pacific’s travel industry, but the Corporate Incentive Travel segment (CIT), already representing one-quarter of the global travel industry, continues to make steady gains.

The “who’s who” of the industry will be there when bauma CHINA opens its doors again from Nov. 27-30 in Shanghai.
More than 3,300 companies will present themselves at Asia’s largest trade fair – 300 more than in 2016.
Accordingly, 200,000 visitors are expected, which would be a new record. The Chinese construction machinery industry is booming as bauma CHINA approaches.

Global Sources opened its Global Sources Electronics show on Oct. 11 at Hong Kong’s AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) featuring more than 7,500 booths.
The event is held in two phases. The first phase, Consumer Electronics, ran from 11th to 14th October and it featured some 3,900 booths, showcasing the latest auto electronics, commercial electronics, computer and accessories, gaming and e-Sport products, home electronics, outdoor electronics, as well as electronic components and smart living products.

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will open the 13th edition of its Eco Expo Asia later this month focusing on energy-saving products and green technologies.
Held at AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) Oct. 25-28, Eco Expo Asia is organised by the HKTDC and Messe Frankfurt (HK), and co-organised by the Environment Bureau of the Government of Hong Kong.

The recent staging of the Indonesian International Plastics, Packaging and Printing Exhibitions INDOPLAS, INDOPACK and INDOPRINT 2018, closed to very positive results: 24,918 trade visitors from 31 countries took part to see the technologies presented by 360 exhibitors from 21 nations on 161,500 square feet.
The visitor participations marks a 10 percent increase, compared to the 2016 events.

Earlier this week, the Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA) announced it acquired the rights and equity in AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) held by IEC Investments Limited, as well as the ownership of AsiaWorld-Expo Management Limited, for HK$900 million (US $115 million).
This deal reduces the shareholders of AWE to just two – the Hong Kong Government and AA.
At the same time, AsiaWorld-Expo CEO, Allen Ha left the organisation. He was immediately replaced with Irene Chan who was previously with the Airport Authority. Ha had been in the role of CEO for 11 years.

IBTM China 2018 closed on a high, with over 6,600 pre-planned meetings happening during the two day-long event, which took place from 12–13 September at China National Convention Centre (CNCC) in Beijing. Over 300 exhibitors from 20 countries were joined by more than 280 Hosted Buyers and 3,400 visitors for two days of meetings, networking and educational sessions.
